“By attending “C.H.A.C.O Dog Training & Behavior Consulting LLC” classes we learned a lot and so did our standard poodle Dash. Almudena has a first-class facility with a large field for classes, within a larger securely fenced area that readily adapts to the wide range of activities she incorporates in her teaching. She is a personable and caring individual as well as a very knowledgeable professional totally committed to helping owners and their dogs.
The classes are usually small, 4 owners with their dogs, which allows some one-on-one time with Almudena when needed, and the classes are nonthreatening and fun for the dog. With her extensive knowledge, she is able to address any special problems encountered. For example, our dog had spent the first nine months of his life in a kennel being mostly ignored. Almudena really helped socialize Dash and he’s become a confident, happy dog, who likes to play and he enjoys the company of other dogs and people.” – Robb & Kate Palmer, Tesuque, NM

From participants of the Developing the Confident Dog class.
“Thanks so much for the excellent recall class that Roxie and I attended. I really enjoyed it. You teach important concepts in interesting ways, and your class is a very different experience than other classes I have taken over the years. It was very helpful and thought provoking.” – Patty Sciarrotta & Roxie
**ONLY 1 SPOT LEFT** Class Description: Does your dog and you suffer from thunder-phobia? As you probably already know, helping your dog out when in the middle of a storm is not an easy undertaking. Unfortunately there are many environmental factors (stimuli) that contribute to a dog feeling anxious and phobic during storms. Even though a full rehabilitation of thunder-phobic dogs vary tremendously from dog to dog, we can most definitively teach our pups some skills to help them better weather the storm.
The class is designed to teach your dog how to completely relax during future thunderstorms, or at least how to best cope during a thunderstorm especially when left alone. The level of success will depend, of course, on how long your pup has experienced weather-related phobia and the practice of the skills learned during class.
We will be working with elements of TTouch™ basic obedience and counterconditioning to teach your pup some much needed skills.
We will also discuss different products that can help your thunder-phobic dog as well as possible medication.
Details: Saturday, April 30th May 7th, 14th and 21st from 9:30-10:30 am
Open to 4 dogs and their handlers. Dogs must be dog and people friendly (no lunging or barking at dogs or people).
First class is a ‘people only’ mandatory orientation. NO DOGS please. Registration closes 3 days to beginning date of course or when class is full.
Please bring to class the following items:
– A portable mat/bed appropriate to your dog’s size OR a towel also appropriate for your dog’s size.
– A thunder shirt which you can buy locally or online appropriate for your dog’s size
– A bandanna
Fee: $128.04 (Santa Fe county sales tax included)
Instructor: Almudena Ortiz Cué M.A. CTC, CPDT, Tellington TTouch™ Cert.
For new clients, you must complete the form on this page and submit payment below before registering for this class. If you are a current client (or have taken a class/private training with Almudena) C.H.A.C.O. Dog Training & Behavior Consulting, LLC., please complete the form on this page here.

You will learn how to reward your dog for behaviors around the home and on “the go.” Special attention will be given to typical adolescent behavior such as: “selective-hearing” when it comes to leaving undesirable items, avoiding you at all cost, exuberance (jumping, mouthing, pulling on leash, lack of impulse control: dashing through doors, unable to sit/stay or down/stay when requested.

Welcome to Agility From the Ground Up,
a series of classes beginning with the fundamentals. Or… think of it as a circle of enthusiasts who are committed to learning the many aspects of the sport while helping their dogs excel.
The pressure is off and the fun is on!
All classes and instruction given are based on the science of animal learning. Behaviors are build step-by-step using reinforcement as well as the use of a marker (clicker).
The goal here is to make sure handlers and their dogs are successful in understanding and executing the task at hand before moving forward with more advanced work.
Course 1: (AG1): Saturdays at 10 am-11 am. September 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, October 3rd and October 10th.
At C.H.A.C.O.’s training hub in Tesuque. Directions will be sent after registration & payment.
Covers learning theory (how dogs learn, including clicker training) reward procedures, good agility practices (safety, handling, and focus work) introduction to working with “equipment.”
Course 2:

We hone in teaching our dogs’ proprioception (how they use their body in space). Dogs will have an opportunity to learn awareness and control of their rear end by learning how to step with precision forward, backward, and sideways – all required when engaged in the sport; as well as Starts and Stays.
Courses 4, 5, and 6:
