“By attending “C.H.A.C.O Dog Training & Behavior Consulting LLC” classes we learned a lot and so did our standard poodle Dash. Almudena has a first-class facility with a large field for classes, within a larger securely fenced area that readily adapts to the wide range of activities she incorporates in her teaching. She is a personable and caring individual as well as a very knowledgeable professional totally committed to helping owners and their dogs.
The classes are usually small, 4 owners with their dogs, which allows some one-on-one time with Almudena when needed, and the classes are nonthreatening and fun for the dog. With her extensive knowledge, she is able to address any special problems encountered. For example, our dog had spent the first nine months of his life in a kennel being mostly ignored. Almudena really helped socialize Dash and he’s become a confident, happy dog, who likes to play and he enjoys the company of other dogs and people.” – Robb & Kate Palmer, Tesuque, NM

“Thanks so much for the excellent recall class that Roxie and I attended. I really enjoyed it. You teach important concepts in interesting ways, and your class is a very different experience than other classes I have taken over the years. It was very helpful and thought provoking.” – Patty Sciarrotta & Roxie

Kinder Pup 1
Class Description:
Your puppy’s appropriate socialization should start pronto! A well-socialized puppy – one that welcomes the interaction of friendly people and dogs- is a happy pup and a pleasure to live with. Kinder Pup 1 curriculum supports learning at the puppies level and real-life scenarios because puppies are still puppies even when you leave the classroom. Kinder Pup 1 is designed to teach your pup that people and dogs mean good things to him/her.
In addition, we will work together on teaching your puppy basic obedience (sit, stay, leave it, come, and loose-leash walking) and real-life manners.
You will also learn how to minimize problems such as excessive chewing, house-soiling, home alone, and puppy play biting.
During class, puppies will have an opportunity to play with other friendly pups, pay attention to you, and gain confidence and social skills.
The Details: The class is open to 6 puppies and their parents. It is for puppies between 8 and 18 weeks old. The class is held in a temperature-controlled classroom. The class fee includes a handbook (printable PDF).
Dates & Time: Sat. 10 am -11 am. Jan. 11th, 18th, 25th, 27th, Feb. 1st, 8th and 15th 2025.
Required Vaccinations: Puppies should have had 2 DHLPP vaccines. One is given after 8 weeks of age and at least 7 days before the first class. They should be kept current with their vaccines throughout the class. Proof of vaccination is required in the first class.
NOTE: Please consult your veterinarian before class if your puppy gets sick. You are encouraged to attend the session even if you must leave your pup at home.

I’m giving this Puppy Culture Exercise Booklet to the 1st four people enrolling in Kinder Pup 1.
Here are the details of the booklet:
The Puppy Culture Exercise Booklet is essential to raising a puppy healthily and safely. If every puppy parent reads and follows these guidelines, potential injuries can be avoided. It is a must-read for all puppy parents!
Registration closes when class is full or on Monday, February 24th, 2025. You must fill out the questionnaire below and pay for a spot in the class. 2 spots left!
Loose Leash Walking for the Dedicated Puller
Dogs pull when on a leash for a myriad of reasons. Walking on a loose leash does not come naturally to dogs, and it is also challenging to teach once the dog is a dedicated puller. However, if you practice regularly the strategies and games you and your dog will learn in class, your dog will learn to walk on a loose leash. In this course, we will practice a few training games to convey to your dog that walking on a loose leash is the new game in town!
Requirements: Five months of age or older. A flat collar AND a harness would be ideal.
Open to all breeds. The class is not suited for dogs lunging at other dogs or people on a leash.
Instructor: Almudena Ortiz Cué M.A. CTC, CPDT, Tellington TTouch™ Cert.
The Details:
The first meeting is a people orientation. There are no dogs.
In our last class, we will meet in a pre-determined location in Santa Fe to practice our newfound skills in a more challenging setting.
Dates: Saturday, March 8th, 15th, 22th and 29th 2025 from 10 am -11am.
Fee: $ 321 (tax included)
Open to four dogs and their handlers.
