Safe and Enjoyable On-leash Walks for You and Your Dog

Class is Full!

You are walking with your on-leash dog when you spot an off-leash dog heading your way fast. Friend or foe? You wonder. Perhaps your dog is afraid of ANY dog regardless if the other dog is “friendly.”

How do you diffuse this situation while keeping your pup safe? What can you do? If you had not given this situation some previous thought and practiced different strategies to defuse it, you would be hard-press to be resourceful when you most need it.

In this four-week- course, we will explore and practice different hands-on techniques that will give you the confidence to deal with the stress of meeting off-leash dogs while walking with your dog. The chances of averting a potentially scary or dangerous situation will increase because you now have a toolbox to rely on.

The Details:

Dates: Saturdays, Aug. 26th, Sept. 2nd, 9th and 16th. The first session is a people-only orientation.

From 8 am – 9 am.

Open to four handlers and their dogs five months or older.

Dogs must be comfortable with other dogs and people. The class is unsuitable for dogs that lunge or bark at other dogs or people in their proximity.

Fees: $ 247.00 (Santa Fe tax included).

Required Vaccinations: Dogs must be up-to-date on their DHLPP vaccinations OR provide proof of a current titer test.
