Puppy Private Training

We offer three modalities to help puppy parents with their new puppy. 

  • In-home private training, 
  • Remote, hourly support, and 
  • On-demand learning courses.

Private Training for Puppies ages 8 weeks – 4 months

Private Training for puppies is the way to go! You will receive expert guidance and unparalleled support to navigate your new puppy in the home. 

Every week, your puppy enters a new developmental “chapter,” so knowing precisely what to focus on can be challenging. Besides, most puppy parents are overwhelmed by the amount of dedication their puppy needs.

The Puppy’s Private Training includes:

• 90-minute Initial Consultation: I will meet you at your home to set things up for you and your pup from the beginning. Ideally, the Initial Consultation takes place BEFORE you get your puppy, but it is not mandatory.

We will cover Prevention topics such as house training, crate training, socialization, bite inhibition, handling, and alone time.

• 8, 1 hr. Training sessions at your home, in town, or at my training hub in Tesuque are relevant to our training. The schedule of these events/locations will depend on your puppy’s age. As we work together with your puppy, we will cover the following:

  • Training concepts: Basic learning theory | nothing for free | life rewards | luring | shaping | reward removal | timing | criteria | proofing/handling distraction | getting and keeping focus | rate of reinforcement | fading the lure | problem-solving at home and on the go such as anti-jumping, visitors at your home, typical household noises, etc.
  • Basic Obedience: Sit | down | stay | come | go to your mat | anti-jumping| leave it | loose-leash walking.

Fees:

• 90 minutes Initial Consult: $250 plus tax. Beyond 90 min. $ 350.00 plus tax.

• 8 One hour. sessions: $1,600.00 plus tax. This fee includes

  •  An extensive handbook (PDF) with all the information you need to continue learning and practicing between sessions and 
  • A booklet of appropriate physical activity for your puppy.

Please note the following:

• Payment for training sessions is required in full during the Initial Consult.

• Travel charges will apply beyond 18 miles from Tesuque at $1.20 per mile/round trip.

• Puppy parent (s) must be present in all training sessions.

There is so much that puppies and people must learn during puppyhood. This critical period determines how well-adjusted a puppy will be as an adult and for the rest of its life.

Every week, your puppy enters a new developmental “chapter”—expanding its repertoire of “cuteness.” However, new challenges will arise, so it is necessary to know what constitutes a “behaviorally healthy puppy.”

C.H.A.C.O.’s Puppy Remote Support gives you the help and guidance throughout this critical period.

Get professional, timely, one-on-one assistance, and you can rest assured that you provide your puppy with the best care and guidance.

Two hours of support:

Receive two hours of one-on-one support via phone, email, Zoom – or a combination of all!

The time purchased can be used in increments and may include support via written or video training plans.

Please note the following:

  • Payment is made in full before we work together.
  • The time purchased must be used within four months of purchase.
  • We can begin working together before your puppy comes home- to ensure you have all that is needed for it or when it arrives.
  • There are no refunds for time not used past the four months.
  • Time from your package will be allocated for custom-written or video training plans.
  • Fee: $430.00 (tax included).

Three hours of support:

Less experience? No problem! You have five months to use the three support hours as described above.
