What is Canine Fitness exactly?
It is a joint activity with your dog that reaps many benefits.

Increases proprioception and posture

Improves weight distribution

Improves muscle mass and muscle tone

Increase tolerance in handling and comfort with their environment.

Increases the dog’s confidence level and problem-solving abilities.

Fitness may prevent injury from daily activities such as hiking, canine sports, and daily living.

Provides the dog with a mental workout – besides the physical aspect of engaging in fitness.
Who would benefit from this class?

Anyone interested in the overall fitness of their dog as described above.

Anyone interested in having their dog learn new skills that will give them confidence (standing in better balance provides a sense of safety and well-begin, for example).

Anyone who is looking for appropriate ways to dispel their dog’s energy.

Those who enjoy learning new things with their dog for fun and a better relationship.

Clients that would like alternative options to daily dog walks.
Please note this course is NOT about diagnosis, treating, or rehabilitating your dog from an injury or post-op. And as such, it is NOT a substitute for rehabilitation services from a DVM.
The Details:
The five-week course is open to any dog breed five months of age and older and comfortable working around other people and dogs.
Dates: Thursdays, May 11th, 18th, 25th, June 1st, and 8th from 6 pm-7 pm.
The first meeting is a people-only orientation. No dogs, please.
Fees: $ 267.50 (Santa Fe sales tax included).

About Almudena:
Besides being a certified professional pet dog trainer and a Tellington TTouch practitioner, Almudena is a Certified Canine Strength and Conditioning Fitness Coach (CSSS) from the North Carolina State University School of Veterinary medicine.
